Yost For Congress
"Let's Take it Back" in 2010

With rising unemployment, debate on government takeover of our health care system, and a Cap and Trade scheme that will force more of our manufacturing sector overseas, I believe this administration and Congress is out of touch with the needs of Americans. Inevitably, taxes will increase, more jobs will be lost, and more people will become dependent on government for sustenance.

I will bring bold and decisive leadership to this District that will bring accountability to the people, tax reforms that will put more money in peoples pockets, and bring an energy policy forward that will use our own resources to eliminate the dependence on foreign oil. Forcing Americans to become dependent on "green energy" sources that don't exist and trying to create jobs that aren't available is economic suicide for our nation. By eliminating excessive regulations that kill small businesses, cutting government spending, and insuring future generations through an education system that works, the resourcefulness of the American people will revive our economy. Government stimulus does not work, never did work, and is failing massively today. $12 Trillion of debt and creating more is unsustainable for our nation.

We are seeing our very Liberties disappear as government forces the takeover of our financial institutions, our Auto manufacturing, and control of the insurance industry. The freedom to fail is inherent in the opportunity to succeed and it is not a role of government to "reward bad behavior" in order to prevent failures from occurring through bailouts. Our Constitution does not enumerate this power to government and will lead us down a very slippery slope we may never recover from as a free enterprise society.

Big government leads to corruption and I will bring smaller, more limited government to eliminate the feasting of special interest groups and lobbyists at taxpayers expense. I will be accountable to the people, not those seeking more handouts from government. When special interest groups fund the re-election coffers of incumbents, no longer are they accountable to those they represent. The unmasking of ACORN is but one example.

Please help me defeat Rep. Corrine Brown, who has been named as one of the most corrupt politicians in Washington. By volunteering, spreading the message, and with your generosity...'Let's Take it Back"...in 2010!

I hope you will take the time to look over the Issues, the Solutions, and even more importantly, Volunteer to make this campaign a success for the people of the 3rd District of Florida and "We the PEOPLE" of the United States of America.

I ask for your support, your encouragement, your ideas, and input to make this effort a 100% grassroots effort to "Take back America" with a Common Sense Conservative for Common Sense Government.

Mike’s 3-Point Pledge

1. Grow the American economy, not the size and scope of government.
2. Reduce government spending, not increase taxes on every segment of taxpayers.
3. Promote small businesses because they are the real job creators.

As Congress and the President consider another stimulus spending bill, there has been nearly $1.5 Trillion in stimulus spending since 2008. The unemployment rate is growing, businesses are still cutting production and jobs, and those “shovel ready” jobs are simply not there. Instead, government continues to grow as there have been over 250,000 new government positions created- all paid for by taxpayers. Stimulus spending will not bring long-term economic growth. The takeover of Health Care, Cap and Trade schemes, and more taxes and regulations on our business and industries are not going to grow our nations economy, but instead bankrupt our children’s future with added Debt.

I am running for Congress to bring fiscal responsibility to government, cut the reach of government, and bring common sense Conservative values to our budget. We cannot continue to run trillion dollar deficits and grow our $12 Trillion dollar debt even more. We must have a Balanced Budget Act or Amendment to force government to live within its means and pay down our national debt.

When elected as your Congressman, I will bring bold and decisive leadership for real tax reforms. With over 71,000 pages of tax code, the system is easily manipulated by Special Interest groups and lobbyists. I will bring reforms that bring transparency to our tax system, and reduce the burden of taxes on all taxpayers with the FairTax.

Our small businesses are being looked at by this Administration as the source of more and more revenue to fund the Health Care reforms, Cap and Trade schemes, and increases in government spending. Our small businesses are the economic engine of this nation as they create over 70% of all new jobs. We must support growth of our small businesses, not destroy them with added government burdens. I will bring changes that will reduce excessive regulations, promote new jobs with tax incentives, and develop new sources of credit so they can once again be the economic engine of America.

Join me and “Let’s Take it Back”…in 2010 and make America the land of opportunity and prosperity once again.

3rd Congressional District campaign: Getting to know Michael Yost:

by Dave Hunt

He goes by Mike. His political start came as a teenager when the neighbor kids’ mom recruited him to help knock on doors for Bill Wampler, a Virginia Republican who ended up winning the state’s 9th District U.S. House seat after a tight race in the late 1960s.

He’s a fan of Ronald Reagan, although he considers him more as a statesman than a politician.

But that’s a good idea of what Michael Yost said he wants to be, too: A plain-speaking, common sense alternative to the Congressional powerhouse, Democrat Corrine Brown.

“I’m a person. Not a politician,” he said....more...
